Please explore this website and watch our video.  You will discover a program that will give you the social and emotional support that you need.

Who can join?
Anyone who has been touched by cancer.  That includes men, women, and children living with any type of cancer, and their family and friends.  Cancer Support Community brings people together who are experiencing similar situations.  Whether you’re looking for an understanding ear, a chance to laugh, or an informational resource, this is the place to learn how to live with cancer, whatever the outcome.  Cancer Support Community also welcomes long-term cancer survivors and those who have lost someone to cancer.

How do I join?
It’s a very simple two step process.
First, you call to register for and attend a New Member Meeting.  The New Member Meeting is an introduction to Cancer Support Community and our program.   We hold New Member Meetings several times each month, and the upcoming meetings are listed below.

After you have attended a new member meeting and learned about the program, we’ll schedule you for an individual meeting with a staff member to discuss how you would like to participate at the clubhouse.

How much do I pay for membership?
NOTHING!  Everything at Cancer Support Community is absolutely FREE of charge.

What about the children in my life?
When cancer happens, it happens to the whole family.  Noogieland, T. Boone Pickens’ Little Dude Ranch, is specifically for children and teens.  That includes children diagnosed with cancer, those who have a family member living with cancer, and those who have had a loss in their family.

The Cancer Support Community Experience
Community is one of the most important aspects differentiating our program from any other.  Today, thousands of people with cancer, and their loved ones unite together through our program.  People come at diagnosis, during or at the end of treatment, at recurrence, or several years out of treatment.  They come because here they are not alone in this journey.  Together they regain a sense of control over their lives, and discover that hope is a very valuable tool regardless of the stage of the disease.

The Journey
It’s YOUR choice. You can use Cancer Support Community as much or as little as you want.  Choose from our full calendar of events to plan for your social and emotional support.

Support Groups
Cancer Support Community North Texas facilitates weekly groups for those living with cancer, those who are post-treatment, their family and friends, and those who have lost someone to cancer.  Support groups are facilitated by licensed mental health professionals for Cancer Support Community North Texas members.

Networking Groups
Monthly ongoing cancer specific networking groups that have both a supportive and an educational component.  Groups are facilitated by a licensed mental health professional.  Look for these groups on your calendar each month so you can join others for socializing, information sharing and support.

Workshops and Presentations
Join other members in workshops to improve your sense of well-being, to socialize and be part of the greater community.  Workshops include activities such as art, healthy cooking, exercise, stress reduction and music therapy.  Attend presentations to obtain information from experts in the field of oncology, nutrition, complementary and alternative therapies, legal issues, and much more.  Some presentations are also available here on our website.
