Dallas Clubhouse Move Update

We have officially moved into our new (temporary) space on the campus of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.  While not everything has found a home yet, we have made tremendous progress in just two short weeks.  Our group rooms are set up and regular activities have begun.  Please note that while our physical address is listed as 8194 Walnut Hill this will not bring you directly to our building.  Please use location on Google maps for driving directions or use the map found here.  As always we are here to help you so please call 214-345-8230 (our new Dallas phone #) or email us.

Here are a few pics of our new location.  We are all enjoying the beautiful creek area behind the building and hope our members will also.

Dallas Clubhouse is Moving!

For the past months you have seen the For Sale sign in front of the Oak Lawn Clubhouse.  There is a contract on the Oak Lawn Clubhouse and barring any unforeseen issues, the deal will close any day now.

This has happened very quickly and without as much transition time for moving as we would have preferred.   However, in keeping with our vision that no one should have to face cancer alone we are so excited to see our plans for growth beginning to come to fruition. We hope that you will join in our excitement that the hope and support offered at Cancer Support Community will soon be accessible to many more cancer patients and their families than ever before.

There will also be regular updates on our website at http://www.cancersupporttexas.org.

Please note that we will need to suspend activities in Dallas for two weeks as we make the move, beginning April 1st.  We will resume regular schedules on Monday, April 15th in our temporary Dallas location.  However, all Collin County activities will continue uninterrupted.  The April calendar will be coming your way shortly and will contain all pertinent information.

Map to temporary Dallas Cancer Support Community ClubhouseUntil our beautiful new location in the cancer center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas opens, we will be temporarily located within the Texas Health University building located at 8194 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231.  There is plenty of free parking and a Dart station within easy walk of the new location.  This is going to mean easy access for many of our members.   Our temporary space is just across from where our new clubhouse will be located and we will literally be able to watch the construction as it soon breaks ground!  Please note that we have included a map and photo of the Texas Health University building below to help you navigate your way to us on your first visit.

As we plan to exit our clubhouse on Oak Lawn our hearts are full with the many wonderful memories, good times and great friends that have brought us all together.  We are certainly going to celebrate the journey of our first ten years and toast to the next ten years and we would love for you to join us! Please join us on Thursday evening, March 28th, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Oak Lawn Clubhouse for cake and champagne to celebrate the wonderful memories and the part you have had in this wonderful community!

This is a most exciting time for Cancer Support Community and the role it plays in the lives of individuals living with cancer.  You are an important part of the Cancer Support Community family and while we are going to keep you informed of all of the latest news, please know that I am here to answer any questions you might have as we make this transition.  I can be reached at 214-219-8877 extension 121.

I look forward to seeing you on the 28th!

Warmly,
Mirchelle Louis, LCSW
